Granules have a fine, powdery texture that dissolves quickly in water. This format offers a great deal of versatility when prescribing and increases patient compliance due to ease of use. Granules are significantly easier to prepare and store than raw herbs.
Capsules are created by enclosing granules in a smooth, veggie capsule shell. This format is convenient to take and store, and is often more approachable for consumers who are accustomed to Western medicine. KPC capsule shells are 100% natural and made solely of vegetable materials.
Tablets are granules that have been pressed into small, easily swallowed servings. This format offers the convenience of capsules without the outer coating, making it easier for some individuals to digest. Tablets are created using our most advanced manufacturing technique.
In addition to these formats, our comprehensive manufacturing capabilities allow us to accommodate numerous other formats upon request. Please note that KPC Herbs does not combine any of our herbal products with pharmaceutical products, in strict compliance with FDA regulations (FDA CFR 21). We also never use any preservatives in our products. We manufacture only natural, sustainably-sourced products, free from harmful additives.

While we do offer our customers the option of ordering bulk granules, we strongly recommend that you use our reliable bottling services to package your granules for you. You will want to ensure that your bottling provider meets the same national and international standards that your herb provider does, including TGA PIC/S GMP and NSF cGMP certificates. This aspect of delivery is as crucial to your customer’s well-being and reputation as are the herbs you offer. When you choose to have KPC bottle your herbs, you can enjoy maximum convenience, simplifying your buying process.
If you choose KPC as your OEM partner, the only aspect your business will be responsible for is creating a label design that accurately reflects your brand. You know your company and customers best, so this step — coupled with KPC’s tested and qualified products — gives your company the greatest advantage. Customers should note, however, that the labels they create should comply with all FDA regulations, and we strongly encourage you to work with your legal counsel to avoid any inadvertent issues.
As experts in the development of Chinese herbal products, our pursuit of excellence is seen in every aspect of our manufacturing process, whether it’s for our own products or our OEM orders. Production of herbal products takes place in three major steps: extraction, concentration and granulation.
After the raw materials are prepared and authenticated, their active ingredients are extracted and concentrated at low temperatures. The extraction temperature and timing are strictly controlled to maximize the efficiency and thoroughness of this step. Then, to increase the efficacy of the finished product, our patented essential oil restoration technology seals in the essence of the herbs.
In the concentration stage, the liquid extracts are gradually evaporated using low temperatures to produce a more condensed form of the herb. The duration of this stage is carefully calibrated to achieve the best herb-to-solute ratio for each unique herb or formula.
The concentrate, now in the form of a viscous paste, moves on to the granulation phase. The paste is sprayed onto minute particles of a base material (non-GMO potato starch and/or ground herbs, depending on the formulation) and the moisture slowly dissipates. At the end of the granulation process, we have a fine, free-flowing extract granule that can be packaged as-is or further processed into one of our many other formats.
